FREE MARCH SPRAYLISTS AT THE PHOTO-PAINT PLACE

The Photo-Paint Place website continues to grow and we think it's quickly becoming one of the best resources around for Photo-Paint information, resources, and freebies. Just in time for your St. Patrick's Day celebration, you'll find spraylists with shamrocks, emeralds, and pots o' gold. We're also getting ready for those April showers soon to come, so be sure to check out the lightning bolts and waterdrops spraylists too! Photo-Paint 8, and 9 users may download these and previous free lists here. If you've been looking for a particular spraylist, drop us a line. We may already be working on the list you need!

NEW FEATURED ARTIST AT THE PHOTO-PAINT PLACE

We were so impressed by the beauty, serenity, and realism of digital artist Sylvia Lutnes that we just had to feature her work on our site. Sylvia (aka "Cricket") uses a variety of image editing software, including Photo-Paint and Bryce. Once you see her work, you'll see that she has mastered them all! We've also been receiving many fine creations from other Photo-Paint and/or Cutting Edge F/X users and have been steadily adding them to our Gallery pages. We'd love to show off YOUR work too! Email your image created using Photo-Paint or Cutting Edge F/X to gallery@cedesign.com Include a few sentences describing your technique.

NEW PHOTO-PAINT ORBITER SCRIPT

Remember creating wonderful designs with your Spirograph when you were a kid? Alex Link has created a series of scripts that are reminiscent of that marvelous toy. We added a dialog to his orbiter script that allows for custom options and have posted the script in Photo-Paint 8 and 9 format. Download these free, fully commented open source scripts here. PHOTO-PAINT QUICKTIPS

Starting with this Newsletter, we'll be sharing little Photo-Paint tips and tricks we've come across. If you have a tip to share, please drop us a line at mailto:paint-tips@cedesign.com and we'll include your tip in an upcoming Newsletter.

TIP #1: To quickly apply a Mask to your entire image, double-click any of the Mask tools.

TIP #2: (Photo-Paint 9) To edit text objects, select the text object and then double-click the Text tool. Your text will now be selected in text-edit mode, with the cursor planted at the end of the text. This is especially useful for those itty-bitty point sizes. Taking this tip one step further, if you double- click inside the selected text bounding box, the entire text string will be selected.

CUTTING EDGE F/X UPDATE FOR INTERNATIONAL USERS

Background: A number of the effects included with Cutting Edge F/X use Photo-Paint's native texture fills. These texture fill descriptions are originally English in both Photo-Paint and CorelScript. The texture fill descriptions are then translated into the host language when Photo-Paint is released for international languages. This means that the underlying Cutting Edge F/X script is effectively "broken" for certain effects and international Photo-Paint users will receive errors when running those effects.

Solution: Thanks to some of our great customers (Alain, Erik, Jan, and others), we have been able to translate those texture fills and compile new editions of Cutting Edge F/X for Photo-Paint for our international customers. If you are using an international edition of Photo-Paint 8 or 9, you will need an update for Cutting Edge F/X. The update can be downloaded from the links below. You will need your original Registration Key supplied after purchase of Cutting Edge F/X for Photo-Paint in order to unlock the update. You should uninstall the English release before installing the international update.

CREATE WEB PHOTO GALLERIES FAST!

Every once in a while, we come across a software utility that makes a specific task (and life in general) easier. We found another such shareware utility just the other day, when trying to quickly create a web-based photo gallery for friends and family to visit.
