MORE PHOTO-PAINT QUICKTIPS

TIP #3:(Photo-Paint 9) Fills. Some users have been experiencing a problem when filling objects because the fill "bleeds" into adjacent pixels. This is because by default in Photo-Paint 9 anti-aliasing is turned on and there is no toggle button on the default fill property bar. You can customize the toggle button back on to the Fill property bar and once you do that, you can disable anti-aliasing and you'll be back to the behavior you've been looking for. The real trick is locating the button in the Options dialog! Go to Tools>Options>Customize>Toolbars and then scroll to the Tool Properties>Tools folder where you'll find it.

TIP #4: Dashed & Dotted Lines. To created a dotted line in Photo-Paint, start with the default ballpoint pen nib. In the Brush Settings docker (or rollup), set the nib Size to 3 or so (or however big you want it); set all Nib Properties to 0; Set all Stroke Attributes to 0; in Dab Attributes, set Number of Dabs to 1 and everything else to 0 ... EXCEPT Spacing. Spacing is the key to your dots ... start with a Spacing setting of around 350 and experiment with it from there. To create dashed lines instead of dotted lines, flatten the nib. CUTTING EDGE F/X UPDATE FOR INTERNATIONAL USERS

Background: A number of the effects included with Cutting Edge F/X use Photo-Paint's native texture fills. These texture fill descriptions are originally English in both Photo-Paint and CorelScript. The texture fill descriptions are then translated into the host language when Photo-Paint is released for international languages. This means that the underlying Cutting Edge F/X script is effectively "broken" for certain effects and international Photo-Paint users will receive errors when running those effects.

Solution: Thanks to some of our great customers (Alain, Erik, Jan, and others), we have been able to translate those texture fills and compile new editions of Cutting Edge F/X for Photo-Paint for our international customers. If you are using an international edition of Photo-Paint 8 or 9, you will need an update for Cutting Edge F/X. The update can be downloaded from the links below. You will need your original Registration Key supplied after purchase of Cutting Edge F/X for Photo-Paint in order to unlock the update. You should uninstall the English release before installing the international update.
