Dritz My Double Deluxe Dressform Taking Shape

01/18/06: Meet Zillie (Godzilla). First "fitting." Stuffed bra and shoulder pads in place.

Using foam and batting to fill her out.

An available knit shirt used in a pinch for a cover.

Trying on recent jacket. I need to build up the shoulders and upper back just a bit more, and do more smoothing overall. It's close though, and not too bad for first go.

Later: I've solved the back neck problem by just opening the neck a bit. I forgot about that adjustment dial. I'll get another photo uploaded soon showing the difference.

Here's the new photo showing the improvement around the neck from opening up the neck width of the form. I'm completely happy with it now.

Compare to the jacket on my actual body.

01/20/06: Fitting a pattern. I had already fitted this without the dressform and Zillie needs the same alterations I do so I think she's going to be a success. It is *so* much easier to fit my back when I can use Zillie's back instead!

05/02/06: A later refinement was to add a length of wide elastic around Zillie's waist so that she looked like she actually had one. The elastic snugged in the padding and made her look more like me. I'm still using the same cami for her cover. It seems to work fine so why fix something that isn't broken?

I've really used Zillie a LOT since I bought her. I wish now that I hadn't waited so long.
