Embossed Buttons a. Start by creating an RGB image with a floating circle
object. |

b. Create a duplicate of the object (Ctrl+D) and with the duplicate selected, hold the Shift key while dragging toward the middle to resize smaller. Check the
Preserve Transparency option on the Objects Docker (Ctrl+F7) and fill the smaller circle red by dragging a rectangle (with Render to Object mode disabled) over the smaller circle. Uncheck Preserve Transparency. |

c. Select the smaller circle and with the mask tool in XOR mode, create a mask from the object (Ctrl+M). |
|
|
|
d. Select the larger circle and with the mask tool still in XOR mode, create a mask from this object (Ctrl+M). Your mask should look like Figure 4. |

|
e. Copy the selection as a new object (Ctrl+UpArrow). |
|
|
|
f. Create a mask from the object in Figure 5 (Ctrl+M). Invert the mask (Ctrl+I) and copy the selection as a new object (Ctrl+UpArrow). With background
visibility turned off, you will see a checkboard pattern behind your "stencil" object, as in Figure 6. |

|
g. With the object in Figure 6 selected, open Cutting Edge F/X and scroll to the PuffPillow effect. Change the effect color to R128 G128 B128, leave the other
options set to the default values, and apply the effect as a new image. Keep the Cutting Edge F/X dialog open for the next steps. |

h. Select the ring object from Figure 5 and with the same settings as Step E above, apply the PuffPillow effect. Drag this new object onto the object in
Figure 7. |

i. Copy the smaller circle created in Step B and paste it into the composite image in Figure 8. |

j. With the circle selected, Alt+Tab to Cutting Edge F/X and scroll to the IceCube effect. For this example, we used the Red preset. Run the effect as a copy
of the image.Drag the results into the composite image in Figure 8. Move the small red circle below the ring object and move the IceCube object in front of the red circle. Delete the drop shadow and crop the image to remove the
embossed borders. |
