TIP #2: (continued)

g. With the mesh object selected, start Cutting Edge F/X and scroll to the Stained Glass effect. Keep the default value for the Random Seed, and change the Edge Width value to 6. (Random Seed numbers change the color pattern of the Stained Glass. Because this effect does not rely on a specific color pattern, the default or any other value may be used.)

h. Because the mesh object goes edge to edge in the current image, apply the Stained Glass effect to a Copy Object as New Image so that the drop shadow has room to grow.

Your image should now look like Figure 10 — your Chain Mesh is complete!. Be sure to delete the mask channels when you have finalized your image.

Other Cutting Edge F/X can be applied to the base mesh object with nice results. Chromed Gold was applied to Figure 11. Figure 12 is a rope effect created by applying the Saville Row option of Streetsmart with an Edge Width of 1. (Canīt you see this net on a pirate ship?) Figure 13 is a red Puffpillow applied for a great woven effect. And, with some careful cropping, you can create seamless tiles from your creations. Feel free to download Figure 14 to use in your own projects.

Experiment and send us a copy of your creations for the Gallery!
